The dust has settled, and the Song vs Song (SvS) SUPER MIC world championship game, powered by HMG Sports Marketing, is set for July 29th. This will be MSL's inaugural SUPER MIC in which the league intends to see this get bigger and bigger each year by showcasing the world's blue-chip unsigned recording artists as they compete for the world title.
MSL is the world's first-ever professional music-performance sports league where their sport is the performance of music, and the unsigned recording artists are the players referred to as, "Music-Sports Athletes". SvS is a virtual league where the players use their original songs, all-genre, and go head-to-head for exposure, ranking, and championships under an NFL/NBA-style league that includes a draft, regular season, playoff, championship, and ranking system.
Today's MICOFFS championship match between (3) B Menace of Suffolk, VA., and (WC) Jamin Beats of Chesapeake, VA will be an epic match. Jamin Beats, originally from Ghana, Africa, knocked off Anthony M of Chicago in the Wildcard round, (1) Octavia The Great of Norfolk, VA, in the Quarterfinal, and (4) Lundyn Blaq of Norfolk in the Semifinal en route to today's championship. (3) B Menace is the 2022 7-Cities Song vs Song champion that defeated (6) Gregory Bell of Norfolk in the Quarterfinals, and (2) Cassaun of Kansas City in the Semifinals en route to today's championship. Today's champion will go into the SUPER MIC as the #1 seed.
The SUPER MIC will be a round-robin style game where each player will face the other. The winner with the best record will win the first SUPER MIC championship belt. The champion will also perform at the halftime show of the Gridiron Development Football League (GDFL) national championship Labor Day weekend in Atlanta.
The players in this year's SUPER MIC will also represent TEAM USA in the US OPEN MIC: USA vs NIGERIA in November.
